Who we are
Our minister and his family
The Rev. Gordon Stevenson was called here in 2010 and lives in Dunbar with his family. His wife was called to glory in 2020. During this ministry, our church has seen God at work in many different ways; lives transformed, people called into full time ministry, others helped etc. We are a family learning and serving Jesus together so that we might discover God's vision for the church and share it with everyone.
Our core values
GROW
Help people to develop a personal relationship with Christ by studying and being transformed by God's word praying to and worshipping God the Father being empowered by the Holy Spirit.
GATHER
Build and sustain a vibrant worshipping community by being a welcoming fellowship of believers growing together as disciples servicing God by using our gifts and talents.
GO
Fulfil Christ's Great Commission by sharing the Good News to make mature disciples working with our local community to transform it engaging with and supporting world mission.
A prayer for this month
Lord God, Father Almighty. To you be all glory, honour and praise. You are awesome. So wonderful are your deeds, so great is your love, so merciful are you.
We think of all the wrong we have done, the harsh words we have spoken and the selfish thoughts and feelings we hide. You see it all.
You see the worst of us, you see the best of us. But it makes no difference what we have done. When we come to you with sincere hearts, seeking forgiveness, you are there, arms open, ready to welcome us in. Thank you Lord for giving your love so freely. Thank you for paying the price for our sin. And now we have life, eternal life with you. Who would believe it!? Just as Thomas and others had difficulty in believing over 2000 years ago, many have difficulty believing that you are alive today.
Lord we pray that their hearts and minds may be open to the possibility of you as the Living God and that they will allow you to enter in and dwell with them. May they experience the joy of knowing you. Lord, we pray that Christians around the world will be able to rejoice on this special day, if not outwardly then inwardly, in the sure and certain knowledge that you are with them now and forever. We ask that you protect and comfort those affected by war, by famine or by flood. Be with those who are grieving, those who are lonely and those who are suffering through ill-health at this time. Lord we see so much hardship all around us and we ask that you bring peace, calmness and order to a chaotic world.
Lord, fill us with your Holy Spirit so that we have the strength, courage and perseverance to carry out the tasks that you set before us. May we be truly willing and obedient servants, ready to do your will. The message of the cross is a lifegiving one. Give us the opportunity to share your story. We think of the people who first shared the story with us and give thanks for them.
We also give thanks for the people gathered here today, our brothers and sisters who join with us to worship and praise you. We are blessed by this time together: a tie of learning, a time of encouragement and a time of fellowship. Lord you have brought us here to be with each other and to be with you. Thank you Lord.
Thank you Lord for everything. We pray in Jesus name.
AMEN

Food Share
We aim to offer our clients dignity of choice, so we are now gradually moving away from the limiting concept of offering pre-packed bags of food to clients. We help our clients to access food and essential toiletries; this can be done through providing them with store cards and high street
vouchers as well as still offering clients the opportunity to visit our stocked cabinets of food, toiletries, and cleaning products to choose what they need. We also run a social café, providing a safe space of support and community, as well as offering food, drinks and snacks every Wednesday lunchtime. Clients then have the opportunity to shop from our mobile cabinets if they choose.

Church of Scotland safeguarding handbook
'Safeguarding underpins the theological imperative to care for the most vulnerable people that we engage with in our life and work. It is a permanent and necessary part of Church life. Everyone has the right to feel safe and cared for in the Church and it is also the responsibility of everyone in the Church'.
The Church of Scotland have prepared a Safeguarding Handbook with relevant policies, procedures and guidelines. A downloadable version of this introduction is available to view or print.
